Are we able to store energy from kites?
Kite energy is not a constant source of energy due to the fact that you can not predict when it will be windy enough to produce what is required. Because of that, there are a few issues such as where and how to store the energy and what other forms of energy could be used together with the wind. For example, we could use solar power together with wind energy. Solar energy is harnessed in batteries so that you can use it rather than using a kite when there is no wind.
Due to the unreliability of wind, much of the energy gained from kites can be wasted because the kite is incapable of storing energy on its own. As an attempted solution to this problem, several devices are being created in order to help store the energy from windy days.
Several different types of batteries are being made in an attempt to store excess kite energy for later use. One such battery is the Flow-battery, a plant based battery that stores solar and wind based energy in the form of chemicals. Flow-batteries also have separate components for chemical storage and power conversion hardware, allowing the battery to be adjusted to store more energy. However Flow-batteries are also very expensive, due to being made with metals like platinum
